Average ROI equation adjusted The Average ROI equation was slightly incorrect. We were using
Av. ROI = average of ((payout-(stake+rake))*100)/stake
but this bases the ROI on just the stake, and not the entire investment, leading to losing players having an average ROI of -110%. We've changed this to be based on the entire initial investment (now including rake) so the new equation is
Av. ROI = average of ((payout-(stake+rake))*100)/(stake+rake)
The effect of this change is that positive Av. ROIs may get reduced slighty and negative ROIs may increase slightly. Kudos to Wragge on the Gutshot forum for spotting this.

Holdem Blackjack
Try out the new craze that is Holdem Blackjack at
Whether you're a poker fanatic or a blackjack buff, Holdem Blackjack is a thrilling new game that offers the best of both worlds! This is the first ever player-to-player game that combines the betting and bluffing of Texas Holdem with the familiar play of casino blackjack. The object of the game is to compete against other players to make the best blackjack hand after three rounds of betting.
First Round
Each player is dealt one card face down followed by the first round of betting.
Action starts with the player to the left of the big blind and continues clockwise around the table. Players may bet, check, call, raise, or fold in turn until all bets are matched.
Betting is Fixed Limit. A bet/raise equals the Big Blind amount.
Second Round
Each remaining player is dealt a second card face up followed by the second round of betting.
Action starts with the player to the left of the dealer button and continues clockwise around the table.
Betting is Fixed Limit. A bet/raise equals 2x the Big Blind amount.
Hand Completion
Remaining players complete their hands, in turn, going clockwise around the table. Each player may request additional cards (Hit) until they stop at the current hand total (Stand). Additional cards are dealt face down.
If a player exceeds 21 they can only Stand (but they are still in the game).
If a player has a soft 21 or has 7 cards they can only Stand.
Final Round
The final round of betting begins after all remaining players have completed their hands.
Action starts with the player to the left of the dealer button and continues clockwise around the table.
Betting is Spread Limit. A bet/raise must be between 2´ and 10´the Big Blind amount.
The Showdown
Remaining players display their hands to determine who wins. Losing hands may be mucked without being shown.
The player with the best blackjack hand (according to the above hand rankings) wins the pot.
Any username or tournament ID search that returns data. Any head to head statistics searched where both players exist regardless of whether they have played together. Any username loaded from a saved table, tournament entrants list or refreshed in the table. Any tournament loaded from the Tournament Selector table. Tournament Selector searches can be free or use up more than 1 search from your quota depending on stake level.
If you have a PayPal subscription, then you can login to your PayPal account, find the original subscription creation transaction and you will see the option to cancel there. If you have a credit card subscription then please email your cancellation request to [email protected].
As of the 21st May 2006 we have a new data removal policy. You may click here or stating the username(s)/network(s) you wish to be removed and your data will be made inaccessible to all free users. Paying subscribers will still be able to see your number of games played, along with your ROI data and form. All other statistics including average profit, average stake and total profit will be inaccessible, along with all the remaining graphs. Hence, once blocked in this manner, no one will be able to calculate your total amount won or lost. All usernames blocked prior to this policy change will remain completely blocked from all users.
Usually within 2 minutes of the game finishing, although occasionally we will have a service outage which means results may take up to 24 hours to be added into the database.
Unfortunately no result capture system is perfect and some results will occasionally get missed. On average we have a >95% capture rate. We are constantly working to improve the efficiency of the result capturing. Please note that the tracking rate has improved over time, so the further back you go, the more likely there may be some missing player results. If you wish to have a missing game for the PokerStars or Ongame networks added to the database you may request it here.
It is very rare to find a player that is not in the database. Did you type the name in correctly? Note that CryptoLogic searches are case sensitive so you have to get the usernames exactly right.
You can search for completed tournments on any network and registering and running STTs (single table tournaments) on the CryptoLogic and PokerStars networks.
For Poker.com and Ongame tournaments we do not track if the player qualified for a tournament via a satellite, so the player is always charged the full entryfee of the final tournament.
For the CryptoLogic network player names are only unique within each skin. So very occassionally there may be multiple players with the same username.
The shark symbol means the website has automatically categorized that player as being very strong. A very weak player will get a Fish symbol. The exact criteria used can be viewed (and changed if you disagree with our settings) in the preferences. We broadly aim to make the top 15% of players Sharks and the bottom 15% Fish by default. We have 3 types of Shark as a good Av. ROI varies with stake level. For example a 7% Av. ROI is extrememly good at the $1000 level, but mediocre at the $5 stake level.
A star by a players name signifies that they on a leaderboard and represents their best position on any leaderboard. 1st position on a leaderboard gets a diamond star, positions 2-5 get a gold star and the remaining positions 6-20 get a silver star. To find out which leaderboard the star corresponds to, hover over the star or click on it. A player with a star will not get a shark fin. A player rated overall as a fish will not get a star.
Average ROI is the average Return On Investment. It is calculated as the average of ((payout-(stake+rake))*100)/(stake+rake). So it will be -100% for a player that loses every game, and about 309% for a player that wins every 9 handed game. It could of course be a lot higher if, for example the player won every 180 player game they played in. It is a measure of ability independent of stake.
The filter field shows the advanced search criteria used for that search. 6<Mths means you only searched for data going back 6 months. E<=10 means the number of entrants in the tournaments where less than 10. S10-20 shows that you only included tournaments with stakes in the $10 to $20 range.
In early tracked tournaments the finish position of players who finished outside of the payouts was not recorded. Only the fact that they lost was recorded. All games currently tracked now include actual positional finishes of all players.
The rules for the SharkScope room rating are as follows:
1) Ignore all players with less than 10 results.
2) Calculate the average of the remaining players average ROI (excluding rake)
3) Show 1 shark for every positive 10% of this room average rounded to the nearest 10%, or show 1 fish for every negative 10%.
Unfortunately the SharkScope database is so large now that we cannot calculate the statistics of every player on a regular basis to see if they are good enough for the leaderboards. It would take over 2 months to complete such a calculation once. However our userbase now is large enough that all the top players in each cataegory will eventually be submitted and we can regularly monitor the statistics of these top players.
Checking to see if a player is good enough for over 150 different leaderboard categories is a complex task and requires a lot of server resources, and so we are limiting this functionality to just subscribers. If you are not a subscriber and are convinced a player should be in a leaderboard then email [email protected] and we will submit the player at an off peak time.
The leaderboard grouping $16-$35 only uses results of games played within that stake range, and it is not refering to your overall average stake. If you played a $100 game and won it, it will not effect this leaderboard. For the average profit leaderboards, you must have played at least 500 games that meet that leaderboard's specific criteria.
